about global-ignores

Hi all,

I am now using subversion on windows2000 and tortoiseSVN as client.
I've created a repository on local disk. And set the the file
"conf/svnserv.conf" as

         [miscellany]

global-ignores = *.ls *.o *.lo *.la *.bak

I've thought this will ignore the files with the extention ls, o, lo, la and
bak. But unfortunately I've found that only the "*.o" files are ignored, the
other four types are still committed into the repository. Is there any
misunderstanding I've made? Thank you.
